Start of school

Welcome Back to a New School Year!
We are thrilled to welcome everyone back and get ready for another fantastic year ahead. As a reminder, school starts tomorrow, August 5th.
Important First-Day Information:

• 7:10 AM – Main entrance doors open.
• 7:30 AM – First bell rings.
• 7:35 AM – Tardy bell rings.

First Period & Schedule Retrieval:Lists will be posted in the cafeteria showing where students should report for their 1st-period class. Students will receive their official, updated schedule during 1st period.
Registration Requirements:If a student's name is not on the cafeteria lists, their registration is incomplete. Students with incomplete registrations will not be allowed to attend class and will need to contact a guardian to complete the process before entering the classroom.
To ensure your student is ready for day one, please verify that all required items—including registration with proof of residency submitted on parent portal, the health form, and the consent form—have been submitted via ParentSquare.
Need to Check Registration Status?If you are unsure whether your student's registration is complete, please email me at rreed@merkelisd.net before 4:00 PM today. I will be responding to emails until 4:00 PM today and will resume answering inquiries early tomorrow morning.
